Workshops
All of our workshops are offered 3 times a year. Each workshop consists of 4-5 students. Follow up Application Workshops are held as needed. Our goal is to finish all of our college applications by Christmas Break.

​Junior Year Kick-off:

1-2 hours
This workshop lays out a plan for junior and senior year; a plan that allows each student to complete tasks early, so he or she isn’t stressed out during application season. The benefits of this workshop are:
  • Students don’t get overwhelmed because there is a systematic approach to completing tasks
  • Students get excited because they see the path to college is laid out in month to month schedule

Résumé Workshop

1-2 hours
In this workshop, students create an academic résumé. In addition to submitting it to a school that requires one, there are some of the important uses for a résumé:
  • The information is used on applications, scholarships and essays
  • Some of the information is used on brag sheets that we give to the school counselor, teachers and coaches.
  • Students get guidance creating a college resume
  • Résumé writing is a skill your son or daughter will need throughout his or her life.

UC Essays Workshops 1&2 -or- ​Common Application Essay Workshops 1&2 

2-3 hours each
The first workshop is to review the prompts, brainstorm ideas and look at examples of other essays. The second workshop is to review the rough drafts.

Scholarship Search Workshop:

2-3 hours
In this workshop, we perform an exhaustive search for scholarships. We also guide students through the process of applying for each scholarship.

Brag Sheet Workshop:

1-2 hours
In this workshop, we create a brag sheet to hand out to teachers, coaches and counselors. 

​LOR (Letter of Recommendation) Workshop:

1 hour
In this workshop, we help students determine who to ask for a letter of recommendation, how to ask in a way that is effective and when to follow up so they have their letters in time.

​Common Application Workshop:

3 hours
In this workshop, we complete the Common Application.

UC Application Workshops 1 & 2:

3 hours
In this workshop, we complete the UC Application.

Cal State Application Workshop

2-3 hours
In this workshop, we complete the Cal State Application.​
